The most beautiful things in the world are made easily if they bring joy to the master in the process of their creation.
In our «horse» team work very interesting people of the rarest professions. Only talent is not enough here, as well as only love for the profession or hard work. Only one who combines all these qualities can create and develop new things in such a project.
How are these little masterpieces created? It all starts with a tree. The most native tree to us, Siberians, is a cedar. Its wood is easy to process, has a soft resinous aroma, a delicate pinkish hue. It is always pleasant to work with any tree, but it is true delight to work with cedar. All horses are made by hand using carpentry equipment and hand tools. A master firstly works with a cedar board, bringing it to perfection. After that it is thoroughly hand-polished and degummed. Then the horse goes to be prepared for painting.
At this stage it is painted in the required background color and primed, the sequence of these two stages depends on the materials used. Now the horse goes to masters of painting. This is a separate workshop, saturated with indescribable creative atmosphere and good mood. Here the craftswomen with their heads bowed over the future masterpiece and armed with brushes, neatly put the picture on the wooden «semi-finished product». The painting is done with oil paints: they are very plastic in work, and the brightness and richness of shades are incredibly durable.
The painting of each horse occurs in stages with drying between the layers of the drawing. The master paints even the tiniest horse (7 cm tall) for two weeks. After the horse has acquired the desired «suit» and is fully decorated, it is sent to the final stage when thin layers of oil or acrylic lacquer are applied over the model. The varnish is sprayed with a special device so that the cover should be uniform. This procedure is repeated many times, and drying the lacquer layers takes an additional week.
With full attention and absolute love our masters create every horse. And this is how a little masterpiece is born!
